Do I need to have radiographs (X-rays) for my dental appointment?
Yes, all patients should have current radiographs (taken within 1 year). Patients should bring current radiographs with them to their appointment. X-rays can be emailed to our clinic dental.clinic@metrostate.edu. New radiographs will be prescribed and taken at the clinic if they are needed.
How long does an appointment take?
All treatment is provided by ADT students, under the supervision of Minnesota licensed dentists and advanced dental therapists. Treatment in our clinic will take longer than provided in traditional offices. Plan on approximately 3 hours each visit.
Will all of my treatment be completed in one appointment?
Treatment times are dependent upon the patient’s individual care plan. Patients typically need multiple appointments.
Does the Dental Clinic provide extractions?
We extract extremely loose teeth on a case by case basis. Patients needing further care will be referred to an appropriate provider.
Does the Dental Clinic provide fillings?
Yes, we do both tooth colored and silver fillings.
Does the Dental Clinic accept insurance for payment?
No, the clinic does not take insurance. Payment is through cash, check, VISA, Mastercard or Discover Card. Payment is expected at time of service.
Is there an area for parking?
Yes, there is adequate, free parking.
What can I expect at my first appointment?
We will perform a comprehensive assessment which includes a visual exam of the oral cavity, charting of the oral cavity, periodontal charting, x-rays, oral images, diagnosis, and treatment plan and options. Current x-rays are required to make an accurate diagnosis. Treatment typically begins at a subsequent visit.
